News and Announcements

Hello CPLL Families,

Believe it or not, the Little League Baseball Season is right around the corner and we are now officially OPEN for Spring Registration! There is a substantial discount for registering in November so if you know you are going to play ball in the spring I’d urge you to take advantage of it. Visit our website at www.cpllbaseball.org and click the “REGISTER” button to start the process.

One very important item that all families need to be aware of is that Little League Baseball has changed the bat rules for ALL Divisions from Tee Ball through Juniors. Essentially every bat previously allowed for use is now banned from being used at any little league game, practice, or batting cage. For all the details please see the official announcement and a list of approved bats via the links below. More importantly, be sure you don’t buy the wrong bat now that the rules have changed. As of January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Bat Standard will be implemented. Little League-approved baseball bats that were approved for use during the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity. For more information on the USABat standard and a complete list of bats approved through the USABat Standard, visit usabat.com. Be sure to look for this logo on the new bats as well:

The 2018 CPLL Board of Directors is now in place and we have a lot of great new people looking to make this an enjoyable experience for all. We are always open to input so if you have any thoughts, concerns or suggestions you can email us at info@cpllbaseball.org. If you are looking to volunteer this season please indicate so when you register your child. In order to encourage maximum youth participation, we try to keep our fees as low as possible. While this provides an affordable outlet for the kids of our community, it also requires us to depend on volunteers to do a fair amount of work each year. Anyone with a particular skill set the league needs (electrical, plumbing, landscaping, construction, etc.) is ALWAYS especially welcome to help out. :) Snack shack supervisors (one day a week typically) are also highly sought after. And of course, we always welcome sponsorships from our local businesses.
Here are some key dates to be aware of. More info to follow as we get closer:

· November 1st – Registration Opens

· November 30th – Early Bird Discount ends

· December 5th and January 9th – Document Verification Nights

· January 13th and 20th – tryouts for AA and higher divisions

· Week of January 22nd – Teams formed and practices begin soon after

· March 3rd – Opening Day

We had a very successful season in 2017 and Cambrian Park LL continues to shine as one of the best places around to play baseball, learn new skills, meet new friends and simply be part of a great community. I’m looking forward to an even better 2018. Play Ball!
