Opening Weekend at CPLL - IMPORTANT
Hello all – welcome to a very wet Friday. We had hoped that the rain would hold off for another day or two but to no avail. We have adjusted the schedule for this weekend as follows:
Saturday – Opening Day Ceremony CANCELLED. We will honor our very successful teams from 2015 later in the season – most likely at the Hit-a-Thon.
Games for tomorrow (Sat): We’re going to try to get the games in. All games at Steindorf are being moved up 3 hours so the first games will be at 9 am rather than 12 pm. While they still may be rained out, we figured if there’s any break in the weather – best to use it for what we’re all here for…playing baseball. The Juniors game at Price is now scheduled for a 10 am start and people are still encouraged to go if they can. People will be at all fields by 7 am to see if games can be played.
Pictures for Sunday – MOVED to next Sunday, March 13 using the same time schedule.
We realize that moving things around at the last minute is a pain for a lot of people. We are doing our best to make decisions that most benefit the kids while still giving families some notice. Thank you for your continued flexibility with all of the goings on this year.
GOOD NEWS!! The parking lot at Steindorf is open. The Cambrian School District went to a great deal of trouble to pave and make available the entire lot for our use. Please read the following CAREFULLY. The entrance to the parking is off of Ross (same entrance as in past years). The parking lot is designed as a one-way lot, going counter-clockwise. This means that all cars need to bear right upon entering the lot. The actual parking spaces are not yet striped, so please note that they are designed as angled parking spots. The angle of the curbs at the beginning and end of each section of parking should offer guidance as to how cars should park. There is a U-turn spot mid-lot, and another at the end of the lot. No vehicles should go past the gate at the end of the lot past the fields and onto the blacktop area that will be used as a playground. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY IN THE PARKING LOT.
Always keep in mind that Steindorf is still an active construction site and the fencing, while temporary, serves a very important purpose so please do not go past it.
That’s all for now – hope to see everyone soon and thanks for being part of our community.
